Waiting Game

Our house went on the market in mid April, and ever since it has been, yes - a waiting game.  We have had a handful of showings since then, so I shouldn't be so anxious.  As much as it is a pain in the butt to have to come home and do a spontaneous clean, it does give me a boost and something to get excited about too.  We have someone coming to see the house this afternoon and so far we are averaging 1 showing a week.  Not good and not bad either, I am fine with that.  Last night I went into overdrive mopping and vacuuming, folding clothes, putting away clothes and painting even.  Of course I don't do all of this without the help of my husband who has been great with all of it.  As much as we'd both prefer him to be out working right now, him staying at home has been very helpful in preparing the home for people to see.

Regardless of the house being up for short sale, we still try to maintain things and keep the house clean and tidy.  We do after all want it to be sold, by the end of the summer preferably.  I never envisaged selling the house through short sale but the economy just put a spanner in the works with our plans.  Nevertheless, we had always talked about about moving back to Australia after four to five years and I just didn't feel that we should halt living our life because of this lame economy our country is going through.  But I have to admit, we are also pressured by the fact that our financial situation right now is not its best and I'm reluctant to say that selling the house would help alleviate the financial strain.  All that aside, I know that selling the house is a positive move for us.

One of our favorite things to do is to sit out on the front porch and watch the world go by
